The Grand River Ranch is a mixture of timbered high country, open parks, rock faces, irrigated hay meadows, fishing ponds, and creekside. As you enter the main entrance at Grand River you are first met with the main headquarters, equestrian facilities, and clay pigeon shooting range.The main road is maintained all year round by the owners association and weaves through property to the Grand River Lodge, fishing ponds and cabins, and all owned parcels. The Gore Ranch is at the south end of the property and is a combination of steep canyons, native grassy meadows, timbered high country and quaking aspens. As you wind up Piney Road, Kremmling sits below. Next to the year-round maintained road sits thousands of wildflowers and native grasses.

The Grand River Ranch

Ranch owners have the use of all owners association amenities including:

• Grand River Lodge: A 7,000 sqft Grand River Lodge that provides full service overnight accommodations as well as a five star dining experience. The lodge is home to multiple guest suites, a media room, commercial kitchen, extensive bar, dining area, library, and comfortable living room.
• Headquarters: The main headquarters at Grand River Ranch boasts an equestrian center complete with horse barn, riding arena, and stalls where owners can board their horses. In addition, there is a stable of shared horses with tack used for entertaining guests. If riding horses isn’t for you there is also a nearby sporting clay range.
• On-Site Fishing: Members of Grand River Ranch have access to the 20+ acre stocked lake and the daytime use and overnight cabin, canoes, boat, dock, and fishing equipment shed. On the northern end of the property, members also have the choice of staying at two daytime use and overnight cabins along world class fly-fishing on 1.5 miles of blue ribbon tailwaters of Muddy Creek.

Locale

The entrance to the Grand River Ranch is only a short drive outside of Kremmling along US 40 and less than an hour from Winter Park and Steamboat. Kremmling is two hours from Denver, less than two and a half hours from DIA, and 40 minutes from Silverthorne. The town of Kremmling is home to all the basic services one would ever need in addition to a jet accessible airport at the McElroy Field Airport with two 7,400 feet runways hangars and tiedowns. The Yampa and Eagle County Regional Airports are all less than two hours away for those that require regional air transport. Kremmling is also home to the confluence of the Blue River and the Colorado River, and Wolford Mountain Reservoir. From Gore Canyon Ranch, owners can access BLM ground and National Forest while also taking in views of the Gore Range, Continental Divide, and Upper Colorado River Valley from afar.

Climate

Grand River Ranch ranges from 7,300 feet and 10,000 feet above sea level. The ranch sees somewhere around 100 inches a year of snowfall. In the winter time, temperatures range from the teens to 30s, and in the summer, owners are met with sunny days with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s to low 40s.

Fishing

Members of Grand River Ranch have access to fishing along 1.5 miles of Muddy Creek at the North East corner of the property. This stretch of Muddy Creek has undergone extensive stream enhancements and is right below the Wolford Mountain Reservoir. Due to its location beneath the reservoir, the temperature of the water in this stretch of the river is colder than others and perfect for populations of Brown trout, Rainbow trout, creek chubs, and fathead minnows.

Members can also fish in the 20+ acre pond on the property or take a short drive to fish the nearby Colorado River or Blue River. The stretch of the Blue River between Kremmling and Dillon, and the stretch of the Colorado River between US 40 bridge and the confluence with the Williams Fork  are both designated as Gold Medal waters.

Grand River Ranch is located in the heart of Colorado ski country. Members have access to numerous ski areas only an hour away, including Winter Park, Steamboat, Breckenridge, and Keystone.

Hunting

The property backs up to extensive BLM ground. There are four hunting units within this section of BLM ground including 37, 27, 15, and 361. All four sections provide incredible elk hunting with trophy elk being harvested annually.

Recreation

The property has well maintained trails and roads for numerous recreational endeavors including hiking, mountain biking, four wheeling, and horseback riding. During the winter months, the terrain also lends itself to incredible snowmobiling and skiing.

For those who prefer water sports, members can go water skiing, sailing, or paddle boarding on Wolford Reservoir or rafting on the Colorado River.

Conservation Value

Grand River Ranch is an ecologically sensitive recreational retreat. There are over 150 species of bird and 50 species of mammal on the 19,000 acre ranch. In order to preserve these species, the ranch has implemented a holistic approach. The goal of the community is to balance the enjoyment of members of the ranch with overall preservation. The association has introduced reasonable covenants on each individual ranch that preserve the natural resources and history of the parcels. The owners association has spent $20 million on ecologically sensitive infrastructure like underground utilities, roads, and wells. They have also done extensive stream restoration on Muddy Creek, built wildlife friendly fences, and implemented grass and forest management plans. Specifically on Gore Canyon Ranch, the current owner has paid for extensive beetle kill tree removal to strengthen the existing forest growth.
